In the compact luxury SUV segment, the BMW X3 is a formidable competitor, and it’s working hard to stay on top.
To do so, it’s getting a few tweaks for 2022. Find out more about its new design and the improved performance of the M Competition model.
An Improved Design
For this new model, the BMW X3 undergoes some styling changes that give it a more imposing look. The nose-shaped grille is larger, following in the footsteps of other new-generation models, while remaining moderate. The shapes are more square in the M models, and the LED headlights have a new design.
The BMW X3 interior, also counts some changes from a technological standpoint with a new 10.25-inch touch screen and 3D mode instrumentation.
As for comfort, it’s still optimal. According to Benoit Charette (L’Annuel de l’automobile):
“The seats are supportive so you can go on long rides without back pain.”
The X3 M Competition, Even Faster
The X3 M Competition is the ultra-sporty variant par excellence of the range. If you’re looking for a thrill, choose this model powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L 6-cylinder engine: it offers 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque!
What’s more, it accelerates from 0 to 96 km/h even faster than before: it does it in 3.7 seconds instead of 4.0 seconds! Who says an SUV can’t be fast?
In addition to this powertrain, there’s also:
- The 288-hp 30e xDrive
- The 248-hp 30i xDrive
- The 382-hp M40i xDrive
