BMW 330I XDRIVE
With the 330i xDrive, you step into the world of the 3 Series with a sedan equipped with a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine that pumps out 255 horsepower every time you step on the gas. This engine is so responsive that it’s disarmingly pleasant behind the wheel.
The transmission is automatic and has eight speeds. However, a sportier version of the latter is available and comes with steering wheel paddles. So, depending on the type of driving you like to do, you can choose between two gearboxes.
BMW M340I XDRIVE
The M340i xDrive model offers additional power with a 3.0-liter inline-6 cylinder engine under the hood. Taking advantage of the turbochargers, it gets 382 horsepower at our command, which has the effect of turning this car into a catapult.
And because it’s sportier and more powerful, it only gets the sportier eight-speed transmission with paddle shifters. A detail that stands out is the presence of xDrive all-wheel drive, an industry benchmark. For safe winter travel, it doesn’t get any better than this.
BMW 330E XDRIVE
The 330e xDrive has the distinction of offering everything we love about a 3 Series, plus the addition of an all-electric range. The 12 kWh battery capacity allows for a very interesting electric freedom of about 50 kilometres. And there’s always room for more, both when driving more conservatively and on days when conditions are optimal.
Furthermore, thanks to the contribution of an electric motor, the 330e’s power is greater at 288 horsepower, even though it also benefits from a combustion engine in the form of a 2.0-litre turbo 4-cylinder. This version can also take advantage of the two automatic transmissions with eight speeds.

Finally, it is also possible to opt for this model in a two-wheel drive configuration. Obviously, this is for the purists for whom driving a BMW is an affair where only the rear wheels come into play when power is required. Only the base transmission is available with this model.
